Graphic eyeliner and floating creases are our fave beauty trends this summer
Thank you 'Euphoria' for making us all up our makeup game
It is a truth universally acknowledged that fashion trends always come back around. The same can be said for makeup, and I for one am thrilled that the floating crease and graphic eyeliner trend (made famous in the 60s by stars like Twiggy and Sharon Tate) is back, and this time it’s popping with colour a la 2019’s hit series Euphoria.
The trend is bold, architectural, artistic, fun and eye-catching, and it’s definitely going to be all over the show this summer. My favourite thing about it is that you don’t have to spend hours and hours blending to get a polished look, it’s super simplistic and doesn’t require like seven products to get it right. In fact, it’s better not to overthink it as you try it yourself, you can always clean up any mistakes with an earbud dipped in makeup remover.
A simple way to try this technique out is to draw the shape you want by tracing the line with either an eyeshadow or pencil liner, and then going over it with a gel or liquid liner.
